There are so many twists and turns with emotions and it's quite possible to feel multiple different ones all at one time. We all know the different categories: happy, sad, mad, glad, etc. but we sometimes don't give much thought to how each influence our lives.
Resistance
When we feel pushed, we tend to push back. It's just human nature—we all want to feel like we’re in control of our own lives. Think about a time when someone tried to get you to do something you weren’t ready for or didn’t want to do. Chances are, it made you feel uneasy or even a bit annoyed. That’s because when we feel forced, it can feel like our choices are being taken away. Instead of going along with it, we might resist even more, just like a cat squirming away when you try to give it a bath. I would think we're all pretty well rehearsed on this - it’s better to work together and make sure everyone feels respected and heard, rather than pressuring each other.
