My life is a journey filled with moments of joy, challenges, and transitions. Along this path, I have formed deep connections with the people I love, and even after they've left this world, I truly believe those connections remain.
Many believe that our loved ones who have passed on continue to watch over us, sending subtle messages and signs to reassure us that they are still with us. These messages often come when we need them most, offering comfort, guidance, or simply a reminder that we are not alone.
The Language of Signs
The universe has its way of communicating with us, often through signs and symbols that hold special meaning. These signs can appear when we least expect them, in ways that are deeply personal and unique to our relationships with those who have passed. It's like receiving a gentle whisper from beyond, a reminder that love never truly dies.
For many people, these signs come in various forms:
1. Nature: Sometimes, we keep seeing the same animal, flower, or part of nature that makes us think of someone special. These signs from nature can feel like a warm hug from the universe.
2. Digital Messages: In today's world, we can find surprising connections online. A message or post might suddenly show up on social media, giving us the exact words we need to hear.
3. Music and Sound: A song on the radio or a particular sound can instantly remind us of a loved one, almost like they are talking to us through the music.
4. Coincidences: Sometimes, things happen in a way that seems too perfect to be random. These moments can make us feel like someone is looking out for us.
5. Dreams: Our loved ones often visit us in our dreams to offer comfort or guidance. These dreams can feel very real and stay with us long after we wake up.
Purple Flowers and My Grandmother
A personal story that shows how these messages can impact us:
My grandmother was someone I could always talk to when I was feeling anxious or worried. She had a special way of making everything better with her warmth and wisdom.
After she passed away, I often found myself missing her presence and advice. During one of those tough times, I started noticing purple flowers everywhere. Purple was my grandmother's favourite color, and these flowers seemed to appear in the most unexpected places.
On the train ride to work, I'd look out the window and see clusters of purple flowers growing alongside the tracks. While driving on the highway, or on a median in town, waving gently as if to say, "I'm here." It felt as though my grandmother was reaching out to reassure me that she was still with me, watching over me as she always had.
One day, just recently, when I was feeling particularly low, a writing popped up on Facebook that was relevant to how I was feeling.
It brought a sense of comfort and connection. It was as if she was sending me a message through the digital world, reminding me that her love was still very much alive.
Though her language would be different from that in the poem below, the message was loud and clear. I believe there must be internet in heaven.
Words from Elena Bernabe:
“Grandma, I’m tired. So tired of this life…”
“Take your tiredness, my child, and wrap it around yourself. Like a blanket in the cold winter months. Tiredness comes to make you a nest, to bring you to wear comfortable clothes, to make you sink into its warm embrace. I invite you to stay within yourself. Without strength, without thoughts, without actions. Like the snow that covers everything to soften the world, to make it muffled, to protect it from noise. Accept the flakes of your tiredness and let yourself be completely covered by them.”
“I could die buried under there…..”
“You will be reborn instead. Like the seed in the ground. Do not resist your weariness, do not reject it with a thousand actions, a thousand intentions, a thousand feelings of guilt. It just wants to take you by the hand and lead you to sink into the void. Right there, where the source of every inner strength lies. They taught us to be strong by resisting. But it is in surrendering that the true heroes emerge.”
“I’m afraid, grandmother. What if fatigue will annihilate me?”
“My child, you are not afraid of tiredness but of losing control of yourself. The time has come for you to give yourself to life. And to generate together with it the most wonderful children: the fruits of your soul!”
The timing of this message was impeccable.
Other Stories
These experiences are not unique to me. Many people have shared their stories of receiving messages from loved ones, each one a testament to the enduring power of love.
Many years ago, a good friend of mine lost her father unexpectedly, and in the days following his passing, she felt a profound sense of loss. She started noticing butterflies everywhere she went. Her father had always loved butterflies, and she took this as a sign that he was still by her side, watching over her and guiding her through her grief.
Another person I know was feeling overwhelmed and stressed about a major life decision. One morning, while driving to work, a song came on the radio that her mother used to sing. The lyrics spoke to her situation, offering the reassurance she needed. An overwhelming sense of peace washed over her, knowing that her mother was still guiding her, helping her find clarity in confusion.
Pennies and Dimes from Heaven
Once, a grandfather said he would leave pennies to find after he passed, as a sign that he was still watching over his loved ones. After the grandfather's death, pennies showed up in the strangest places: on the doorstep, in the grocery store parking lot, and even at the office. Each penny was a small reminder that the grandfather's love was still very much alive, giving strength and comfort to his family when it was needed the most. In another story, a mother uses dimes to connect with her loved ones – the silver shining so brightly in the most unusual places.
These signs often come when we least expect them, and it's easy to dismiss them as mere coincidences. However, when we open our hearts and minds to the possibility of messages from beyond, we can find solace and reassurance in these small miracles.
Being aware and attentive to the signs around us can help us feel more connected to our loved ones. It's a reminder that even though they may not be physically here, their love and guidance continue to surround us.
Here are some tips to help us be aware of these subtle signs:
Be open to the idea that your loved ones might be trying to communicate with you. This openness will help to notice signs you might otherwise miss.
If something feels important or reminds you of a loved one, trust that feeling. Our intuition often helps us recognize messages meant for us.
Write down your experiences to help see patterns and connections you might not notice right away.
Talking about our experiences with others can validate our feelings and comfort those going through similar experiences.
Take time each day to focus on the present moment. Mindfulness can help us become more aware of the signs and messages around, allowing us to fully appreciate their meaning.
Believing that our loved ones still watch over us gives us comfort and strength. These messages remind us that love lasts forever, beyond life and death. By staying open and aware, we can continue to feel the presence of those we care about and find peace knowing they are still with us.
When you're feeling unsure or sad, be open for the signs. It could be a butterfly, a song, a dime, or a purple flower. These little miracles are messages from beyond, reminding us that we are never truly alone. Our loved ones are always with us, their love a part of our lives, giving us support, comfort, and the promise that they will always be there.
So, the next time you feel a gentle breeze, see a flash of color, or hear a familiar tune, take a moment to pause and listen.
You might just hear a voice from the past, whispering, "I'm here, I see you, and I'm still with you."❤️
